The Castilla‘s distillery was founded in 1993 by the Diaz family in Piribebuy. The name Fortin - Spanish for "small fortress" - of the rum produced pays tribute to the city's heroic past. The distillery produces all types of rum in a 100% organic production process and the harvest is done exclusively by hand. In 2015 the Castilla distillery was honored with the prestigious title “Best Distillery in the World”.
